This week was the first week I've gone running [Feb. 6th, 2005|04:27 pm]

since hurting my foot back in December. The good news is that my foot seems to be fine. I ran for just over three miles Thursday and yesterday, and all was well. (It's been unseasonably warm out, too -- woohoo!) Today, the idea was to run my three-mile route (which I'd come up with by looking at a rather unhelpful map provided by the NU Running Club) twice with a one-mile route in between, but I kind of got confused and went too far during that middle part. I was running along, wondering where the hell I was supposed to turn around and feeling rather tired and sorry for myself, when I suddenly realized that I probably should have turned around some time ago. So I walked back to the point where I should have turned (I guess) and went from there. I just barely managed to finish the total of seven miles, because shit-damn, was I feeling like crap. So the bad news is that I need to do a better job of figuring out routes if I really want to do the marathon thing again. Yes, I'm planning to run the Lakeshore Marathon on Memorial Day. What I did this week was basically Week 2 of the training program I used last year. I briefly considered using a different training program (for instance, finding a proper 17-week program instead of using my old 18-week program and skipping the first week), but I'm comfortable with the one I've got, and if I can get past the initial shock of starting right in on Week 2, I'll be fine. (I note ruefully that the Week 1 Sunday run is only six miles -- and if I'd tried to run six today instead of seven, none of the route-confusion crap would have happened. But noooo, I had to go and skip the first week of the program in order to fit it in before the race. Ah, well.)

Tonight: Super Bowl party over at Joe and Patrick's place. I'll be heading over there pretty soon, although I have to say I'm looking forward more to Joe's famed macaroni and cheese than the game. =)

That's PETER, not Patrick.

You should at least know the name of the rich law school graduate whose house, Kegerator, and plasma screen you're monopolizing. =p

Ack! Peter!

Well, at least I know Joe's last name now; give me some credit!

Joe's last name is easy to remember.

Someday he'll come out;
Joe Morrow!
Bet your bottom dollar
That Joe Morrow
Isn't straight.

Just thinkin' about
Joe Morrow
Clears away the errors,
And his Web sites
Validate!

When I'm stuck with this boy
That's coy
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And grin,
And say,
Ohhhhh . . . .

Joe Morrow!
Joe Morrow!
I'd love ya, Joe Morrow!
If only
You weren't so gay!
