It took a lot longer than I expected -- over a month from the time I interviewed -- for them to get back to me, but as much as I would like to believe that that means that I'm hard to turn down, I think it actually just means that they're very, very busy.

Well, so much for that! I'll try again next year. I have some more ideas about what to do this summer, but I'm going to try to not even think about them until the top of the calendar says 'March'. I have to concentrate on school.

Could be the economy. Lots of employers are scaling back plans for hiring these days.

Sure, but they started the conversation by inviting me to apply, after all. So I think it's pretty safe to say that there are, in fact, intern positions they're hiring for. I don't want to discourage other people from applying. When I was at GWWE last month, one of the questions I kept hearing the workshop attendees ask over and over was, "Are you still hiring? No, really -- are you?" The response kept being, "Yes!"

Sorry :(

There are cut backs and not as many interns will be hired this summer as last year.

Thanks. Yeah, I believe it.

Considering the economy, I'm just lucky I happen to be in school (with funding) right now. I really don't have much to complain about.
