Courtney: Ben, look, it's a picture of Lindsey and Alex crossing the finish line in 4 minutes and 57 seconds. Ben: It took them that long to cross the finish line? Courtney: No, to do the whole marathon. Ben: Less than five minutes to run a marathon? Courtney: Oops. I got my units wrong, but the numbers are right.
Although I guess you actually did even better than I thought, now that I think about it. I'm impressed.
That's the funniest conversation ever!
Incidentally, though, the numbers aren't right, because that clock started when the first runner started running, and we didn't cross the starting line until well after that (since there were many thousands of people running and it took a while to herd them all across the starting line!). So our actual time from starting line to finish line was 4 hours, 39 minutes, 45 seconds. Woohoo! | |
