"Spem in alium nunquam habui"

My choir, the Grinnell Singers, is heading to NYC tomorrow. (!) I know this is extremely late notice, and I don't know if any of you will happen to be in the area, but hey, just in case, there will be two concerts. The first is free, and the second is $25 a ticket -- I know that's really expensive, but for the record, it wasn't our idea to charge that much.

Sunday, March 14:
3:00 p.m.
Church of the Good Shepherd
7420 4th Ave.
Brooklyn, NY 11209

Tuesday, March 16:
8:00 p.m.
Cathedral of St. John the Divine
110th and Amsterdam
New York, NY

We're singing pieces in Russian, Spanish, Hebrew, Italian, Latin, and English, including Tallis' "Spem in alium". For those of you who are not big choral music dorks, it's a 40-voice Renaissance motet. In our 56-person choir, that means that most people are singing a part by themselves. But, you know, no pressure or anything.

Everyone have a good weekend -- I don't expect I'll be reading or posting too much over the next few days, unless Chris underwhelm lets me borrow his phone to make a phone post (hint!).
