Thirteen miles today.

And the farthest north I've gone so far! It took about three hours. Pretty slow. If today's run was half a marathon (which is about right, considering the time I spent waiting for lights to change and cars to go by -- having to cross Sandy three times wasn't really the best idea ever), then that would put me at about six hours for the whole race. My PR for the race is 4:53:17, and I've been hoping to PR in June, so. *squirm*

After I got home, I realized that I'd been within a block of Joe karzon and Rachel's house. The neighborhood had looked awfully familiar, and I had kept looking around for their house, not realizing that it was actually behind me! It's pretty awesome to think how much of the city I've now covered on foot. I still haven't crossed the river, though. Some of the bridges aren't especially pedestrian-friendly, and I have a fear of being on, say, mile eleven of fifteen, tired, slow, not thinking straight, and making a wrong turn and ending up in, like, a drainage tunnel, or on an on-ramp with cars whizzing around me. But this is helping.

Also, note to self: Don't bring They Might Be Giants records on any more long runs. I think I grabbed Flood by accident; I was kind of in a daze before I left, and it was right next to Speaking in Tongues since I alphabetize by artist name. I was all confused when it started. I mean, I do like it and all, but four times in a row is too much.
