Glasses are left behind; I don't need them to know where the pavement is. Any makeup left from this morning washes away in about ten seconds. These pants are thin and light and make me feel fast, yet they're toasty warm and dry. On the other hand, my shoes and feet are soaking wet before I even get to the park.
My headphones are an extension of my body. The music soaks directly into each hearing nerve. They say that women have as many as 40% more connections between the halves of the brain than men do. They say it makes us better at some stuff and worse at other stuff, but as for me, I'll take all the extra bandwidth I can get. I circle the park, the earth orbits the sun, the CD spins in my hand, I circle the park again. I'm going to be sore later. I feel great now.
