One style...one file...when it's one need...in the night... [Nov. 20th, 2006|11:53 pm]
Lindsey Kuper

matthewgifford: This is the scariest thing I've ever seen:
matthewgifford: http://www.calacanis.com/2006/11/20/bank-of-america-one-cover-video/
matthewgifford: This is just downright painful to watch.
lindseykuper: Holy crap.
matthewgifford: Yeah.
lindseykuper: Can you imagine being there?
matthewgifford: I'd be sweating bullets.
matthewgifford: Trying not to scream/laugh.
lindseykuper: It almost makes it worse that the guy can sing.
lindseykuper: He's taking it so seriously...gaaaaaah!
lindseykuper: OK, I made it through the whole thing. I didn't know if I would.
lindseykuper: Heheh.
matthewgifford: I couldn't.
matthewgifford: I skipped to the end to see what would happen.
matthewgifford: Those people had much more fortitude than me.

I spent a lot of today merging other people's style sheets by hand. After watching this video, I think my commit messages need to start taking the form of U2 parodies. Just think...

One file...
With each other...

*runs. fast.*

You are right, that is too painful to watch.

I wasn't going to make it all the way through, but when I saw I was three-fourths of the way there, I stuck it out. Isn't there a name for that cognitive bias? Aside from "masochism", I mean.

Oh, c'mon, those lyrics are so compelling, even David Cross is covering the cover in NYC now!

Hee. I love that he dressed the part, too.

My Uncle's the Executive Vice President of a credit union. At the quarterly meetings he presents his reports in the form of show tunes. Apparently those meetings get pretty dull.

Maybe this is just part of bank culture.

If that video is any indication, bank culture has sort of a "maintain your cool and calm, in the face of all outrageousness" aspect to it. I couldn't believe that people weren't laughing and hooting during the song. And at the end, they just kind of sedately stood up and clapped. What's that about? Can you imagine a bunch of geeks acting that way?

I hope royhuggins watches a bit of it. He had an MBNA credit card and swore bitterly when he discovered it had been taken over by BofA.

I am at work and can't go watching youtube files, so I'm using that as my excuse as to why I could only watch 2 lines of lyrics before shutting it off.
