An apple and an orange have something in common; they are both fruits.

The opposite of an apple is an apple peeler-corer-slicer, which is a tool made of stainless steel.

The opposite of an orange is an elephant, which is an animal.

They are both grey.

They are square. Because apples and oranges are theoretically round, and the opposite of circles are squares.
