Okay, sick. [Feb. 6th, 2004|05:40 pm]
Lindsey Kuper

Nasty sick. Cough, sniffle, bad headache that won't go away. Amazingly, though, I haven't missed any classes because of it (aside from one piano lesson, which was pretty vaguely scheduled anyway), and I've turned in all the homework I was supposed to turn in today. Indeed, I had no problem doing math with a splitting headache, and my LaTeX even compiled the first time instead of the tenth. Something's wrong here.

I'm not really a big fan of taking pills for pain relief, but in my desperation, I started popping Tylenol, and the pain in my head has dulled significantly, but it's not gone. And I'm as frustrated over why I got sick as I am over being sick. Why me? I mean, I think I've been taking pretty good care of myself.

We're having a Singers get-together tonight, that is, if someone with a car ever volunteers to drive to the store and buy the requisite beverages. I haven't eaten since breakfast, so I think I'm going to go have some food, drink tea, and hope my head feels better.

Weird - I just was looking at my LaTeX documents from my senior design course earlier today, and I hadn't even thought of good old LaTeX for a really really long time (probably not since spring of '02), and then what do you know -- it pops up randomly on my friends page. If I believed in that sort of thing, I'd be slightly worried the universe was trying to tell me something... :)

Re: being sick: meh! I hope you feel better soon.

Re:

Cool. What kind of design? What were you using it for?

I've just been using it to typeset the homework for one of my classes, so I haven't really done anything longer than a page or messed with any of the default settings. Man, is it gorgeous, though. I first became interested in it when I noticed how one of my math profs made all her handouts with it, and how they were such a pleasure to look at.

Re:

What kind of design? Software engineering design. What were you using it for? Technical documents - Requirements Analysis and whatnot. Nothing so complicated that we couldn't have done it decently with a generic word processor, but yeah - lovely output. It was required for the course, but I was glad that we had to use it (even if it made me want to cry every now and then throughout the semester.) :)
