Well, today was the first official day of the marathon program. [Jan. 27th, 2004|08:23 pm]
Lindsey Kuper

I ran three miles (accompanied by the first eight and a half songs on the second Garbage album), and it went well. The only frustrating thing about it was that I couldn't run my usual route, because as dumb as this sounds, I don't know how long my usual route is. Instead, I have to run the routes that the cross-country team here has worked out distances for, which kind of sucks, because I like my usual route. Ah well.

I'm also going to run three miles tomorrow and Thursday, and over the weekend a six-mile run. Right now the plan is to avoid running on Friday, because the high that day is supposed to be 7 degrees F. Seven! Luckily, next week it warms up to a balmy 24.

Hmm. Well, as you continue on these three-milers, you'll probably get a very good sense of how long it takes you to cover a certain distance. So then, if you do your "usual" route, and you time yourself, you'll be able to get a pretty good idea of how long your usual route is.

Go Lindz! =+]

Actually, scratch all that. I just found out the length of my usual route by calling the Grinnell Recreation Department. The lady who answered the phone knew. Awesome. =)
