On Tuesday I swept and wet-swiffed the bedroom, and as I said before, my stuff arrived and we moved it all up to my loft. Yesterday, I made lots more progress: I swept and wet-swiffed (yeah, yeah, you try and find an appropriate verb for Swiffer Wet) the bathroom, office, and hallway; unpacked all my books and kitchen stuff; and even made myself a lovely temporary desk out of boxes. (Jon cracked up when he saw that. "Nice. Very dot-com.") I also went around and measured all the windows (for curtains) and floors (for area rugs) and I bought some bathroom curtains and a shower curtain online. Finally, I went on craigslist in search of a desk, and I found a nice one that matches my bookshelves and that I'm hoping is still available.
I'll probably have to hit up craigslist for area rugs, too. They're expensive, and I'm going to need them -- my floor is pretty rough, and there's a lot of it. The bedroom alone is, like, 250 square feet! What am I supposed to do with all this space? This place is so big, I could even sub-sublet a room if I wanted to. But then I'd have to give up my private bathroom...yeah, no.
I'm really excited about the House. It's been years since I actually lived in one (it's been all apartments and dorms), and I forgot about how nice it is to have stairs, and a front porch, and a washer and dryer that aren't coin-operated. Plus, since Amanda owns the place, we can do whatever we want -- if we all agree that we want, say, a cat, then nobody can tell us no.
