No coffee was spilled in the making of this nosebleed-inducingly adorable moment [Sep. 22nd, 2010|12:24 pm]
Lindsey Kuper

Alex oniugnip and I work on different floors of the same building. I often go over to his office to get coffee (he makes excellent coffee) and chat with him. The folks who share his office aren't around much, so we usually have the room to ourselves and end up smooching a little. You know, for research purposes.

Today when I visited Alex, one of his office-mates was there, so we didn't do any smooching, and I left with my coffee. When I was halfway to the stairs, he came scampering down the hall after me, grabbed me -- expertly avoiding my coffee cup -- and kissed me. Had to get that in there!

So, that's why I've been walking around with a big ol' dumb grin on my face for the last hour.

P.S. Today I was talking to my classmate Roshan about contracts and we decided that your next paper needs to be "Contracts for First-Class Continuations".

P.P.S. Then you could parallelize the contract checking, and call it "Future Future Contracts".

Hahaha...we already have someone working on future contracts in my lab, so it wouldn't be too far a jump. Also, I've thought about contracts for continuations and continuation marks, especially since so many things in Racket are implemented using such. It'd really help out some of Typed Scheme's not-quite-soundness. So hey :D

Though any paper that mixes continuations and futures and doesn't start with the phrase "Back to the Future" is really missing out.

"Checks? Where we're going, we don't need checks."

...SO TO SPEAK.

An excellent point.

aw! (grins) Of course, I've never done anything remotely like that.

I wonder how much random smooching has happened in lindley...

I wonder that, too! At any given moment, how many people in Lindley are making out?
