Probabilities, especially when coupled with the Bayesian interpretation of probability, make a lot of things a lot simpler in many areas of CS. I entered grad school with an aversion to them, but now find them to be pretty indispensable. Also, you still get the same number of possibilities, and therefore makeouts.

It's not that I really have an aversion -- I've just never taken a probstat class. (Not even in high school!) Everything I know about that stuff is from reading, like, twelve pages of Appendix C of CLRS. This is bad! But, you know, as long as there's makeouts.
