Lindsey Kuper

Jesse jes5199 starts on Monday! Yay! In preparation for his arrival, I've really been trying to Do Things Right. Mostly, that means putting stuff in SVN. And making it more generic and less Lindsey's-machine-centric. Funny how adding another developer to the group makes you start to care about stuff like that.

Today the Qwest guy came and did the outside-the-house wiring for our new phone line that's going to be my work number. (Wiring! Man, this "land line" thing is crazy!) One of Paul stereotype441's friends is going to come over next week and help us do the inside-the-house part, because here at Happy House, we like to roll our own. I finally got my office set up in the basement now, too. Does your office have a projector, two 88-key weighted keyboards, a formidable DVD collection, a high-efficiency washer and dryer, pillows, bike storage, and 5.1 surround? Mine does. It will be Code Party In Paul's Basement. Every day.

Yay SVN! I always feel so awesome checking stuff in and out. I'm not sure why, but I totally do.

Can't say I've ever had 2 88 key weighted keyboards in one room at once.

Closest I ever came was in high school, when we managed to have a baby grand, a drum set, and a dual-manual Hammond with full pedalboard and 5' Leslie cabinet in the living room. :-)

Sadly, now my beloved stage piano is off getting a broken key weight fixed, and it's been almost 6 weeks. I miss it.

If it makes you feel better, only one of mine is fully operational right now. In fact, it seems like at any given time, only one of mine is ever fully operational.

for some reason I assumed when you said "88 key" you were talking about "101 key" keyboards. they're both palindromes, and both nicer with weighted keys.

I should do like mediaboy there and call them stage pianos, 'cause that's what they are. It seems a little pretentious, though, like "pre-owned vehicle".

Man, you ought to see how I get when I'm supposed to teach someone something. I really start stressing about how to say these things so they'll be intelligible outside of my head, especially the things I know very comfortably and intimately (and therefore consider myself even marginally qualified to teach). It's good for discipline.

Oh, I've been wigging out. Especially since people kept telling me that it's his dream job, so of course I was all AAAAAHHHH EXPECTATIONS. But when I told him that, he was like, "Yeah, but no, you don't understand. I have a weird dream."

*theatrical sigh*

Yes; yes, it does. You're also an audio producer.
