Check my pleasant nature and interesting combination of skills! [Jan. 12th, 2007|05:12 pm]
Lindsey Kuper

My boss just sent this out:

I am pleased to announce that as of January 3, Lindsey Kuper has officially joined our Central Media group as an Associate Project Manager. She will continue to work on putting our Angel master courses together and on various eBook-related duties, until we find more for her to do somewhere else.

Many of you have already met and have been working with Lindsey, so you know how impressive her skills are and how pleasant she is to work with. If you haven't worked with her yet, you probably will soon, and I'm sure you'll agree that we're lucky to have her on board as a permanent employee.

Lindsey graduated from Grinnell College (Iowa) in 2004, majoring in Computer Science and Music (interesting combination, no?). After graduating, she worked as a Web Designer/Developer for a Chicago startup company that produces interactive video websites. Looking for a change of scenery, she moved to Portland Oregon, where Ken and I found her through a Craigslist ad and quickly hired her to help with eBook work. I later pulled her off onto Angel projects, where she's been indispensible.

Lindsey will continue to travel to New York and Boston as needed from her Portland home base. Until her bfwpub email address is set up, you can contact her personal email address, lindsey@rockstargirl.org (and those of you curious about that address should check out http:// www.rockstargirl.org).

Sweet!

Angel is the name of the course management system we use to build online course materials. We've been using it for a lot of stuff.

Sweet indeed!

Sounds like a boss who's curious about, interested in, and supportive of you as an independent entity. That doesn't happen often enough. Congratulations!
